Hi Adam,

There are some settings for the Map Trace which I assume are the defaults. Any reason to allow it open and do we need to adjust them ?
Any improvement or complications if these are out of the norm ?
Buffer = 2
Packets = 1
Display Delay = 200 ms
Time Out = 5s

Thanks.

P/S : I'm putting this here instead of email as I don't always have access to the private emails.

Yes they are defaults. You should never have to change them. However, here is what they do:

1. Buffer and Packets determines the performance of the data transmission from the ECU to the computer.
2. Display Delay = Screen refresh interval.
3. Timeout = How long to wait to set the Map Trace to "Idle" status if no data is sent back from ECU. When the status is set to "Idle", it means that Map Trace is currently inactive, ie the ECU is not transmitting any data and Turbo-Tuner is not listening for any data.

The reason why they are adjustable settings is so that if someone does experience problems, then these settings can be adjusted to try and fix them.

But as mentioned above, you should not change them unless advised to do so by me.

With the MAP trace, it seems that there is now an opened communication channel between the car and the notebook. Can the TT be made to prompt the connected user, if the following occurs, on the screen ?
1) Knock
2) MAF exceeded
3) etc

In theory it's possible, but it would take a very long time to develop because it's not simple.

Trying to watch map trace today, I got multiple "ECU" communication error messages... However, my question is actually how to make sense of what is seen, as the trace seems to jump a fair bit. I don't know how to interpret. Hopefully you'll have time to create the logging feature!

Is there a demo video? I tried the link in this thread, but it doesn't work.

EDIT: Reposted on my mapping thread...
