The 4.4 is scheduled for release in spring. We will of course offer an introductory discount for the 4.4 when it's launched.

I heard the 4.4 has a MAP (forgive the pun). So will the tuning software be the same ?

Okay I got the above wrong after some checking, it's for atmospheric / barometer measurement. Is the ECU for the Year 2000 S70-2.0T (without throttle cable) the same as the 1998 V70-T5 ? If not, what about the 1997-99 models with throttle cable ? Can the TT be used ?

No, MY1999 onwards is ME7.

MY1997-1998 with throttle cable - yes.

Yes it should be ready as planned. The target release date is Monday 6th July.

Please bear in mind that our testing is carried out on a UK spec car. It is therefore possible that there may be some minor issues to resolve on US spec cars, however with CJ's help any problems should be resolved very quickly.

My advice would be to wait until CJ has tested the US spec version thoroughly. Once he gives the all clear, then you'll be good to go.

Quick update...

The M4.4 TT software is ready. However, the problem up until now has been testing it in a car because I only had an 850 which used M4.3, and it was difficult to borrow a suitable test car for testing the M4.4 version of TT.

The good news is that today I have bought a V70 T5 M4.4 so I can now do as much testing as I want. So next Monday (13th) the TT M4.4 will be available for purchase in the UK, and then then in the USA very soon afterwards.

Please bear in mind that due to the extra complexity with converting the M4.4 ECU firmware, it takes longer to create a TT USB ECU for M4.4 than it does for M4.3, so at the moment it can take up to 5 days to convert one.

Please also note that due to the inherent M4.4 TT USB design, it's not really possible to keep lots of units in stock for all the different models. This will also add a bit more delay in the overall delivery time for those wishing to purchase ready-made units.

Can I offer myself to be a guinea pig to test out the M4.4 :D

Seriously Adam, can you put a table for the compatibility ECUs like the M4.3 ?

Chilled Man, pls reservse the following ECU for me if you have them on you 0 261 204 449. BTW, what's SAS ?

Unfortanately there is no compatibility table because the M4.4 is not generic like the M4.3 due to the more complex immobilisation. Hopfully I can resolve this in the near future, but for now you need the exact same ECU Bosch number.

FYI...

1. The ECU will be fully OBD2 compliant and will also support OBD2 datalogging using any suitable 3rd party tools such as VolFCR.
2. TT will not be able to read/reset DTCs so you will need a 3rd party tool for this such as VolFCR. This is something that we will try to address later.
3. The IMPORT feature for map sharing needs to be reworked for the M4.4 so initially it will not be possible to share maps. This will be sorted asap. Cross-sharing between M4.3 and M4.4 will be available in the near future.

Will the present software cater for both 4.3 & 4.4 ? I'll be using the same notebook to program either ECUs and will the downloading of a 4.3 map interferes with the 4.4 ?

Apart from that can an ECU written by "A" notebook, be able to communicate with "B" notebook if both notebooks have the same identical maps ?

Yes.

TT configures itself to either 4.3 or 4.4 during installation. Therefore you cannot use the same application to connect to a different ECU. The TT Pro version will be able to support multiple ECU connectivity.

Apart from that can an ECU written by "A" notebook, be able to communicate with "B" notebook if both notebooks have the same identical maps ?

No. Notebook "A" will be locked to ECU "A" during the installation. Notebook "B" will be locked to ECU "B" during the installation. Therefore notebook "A" cannot talk to ECU "B", and notebook "B" cannot talk to ECU "A". Again, the TT Pro version will be able to support this.
