COP Status?
« on: October 20, 2010, 09:40:45 AM »
Since I'm just waiting on the COP package to be finalized before purchasing an ME4.4 TT unit, where do things stand on this? How will it be implemented and installed from a hardware/wiring perspective?

It has been delayed because we are working on bringing the cost down and making a few minor changes.

In terms of the TT ECU, it will require a retro-fit to any existing TT ECUs. If you don't have a TT ECU yet and want to order it as COP-ready unit, you must let CJ know in advance so that we can make the necessary changes.

In terms of installation, it will be plug-and-play and will require coil packs purchasing seperately. We are still working on some minor changes and on the documentation. Once ready, I will upload the documentation so you can see exactly how it all fits together.

Awesome, good to hear that it's coming along :)

Can the COP package still be used with a stock ECU? Can that modified TT ECU still drive a distributor based ignition system? If not, that's perfectly fine with me. If it can, then I can order earlier and get a feel for TT on my stock engine while it's still in the car  ;D

Coil On Plug, you will be able to ditch your dizzy and use coil packs like the later cars use.

Work in progress...

Since a 1996 B5234T5 doesn't have a mounting point for COP no. 1, I had to solve it temporarily with a piece of metal.

Nice setup, care to tell us a little more about it? :D

And many months later... any updates on TT's COP package, or should I just go standalone?  ::)

Can the TT be used for both COP and distributer systems?  Say for starting on the traditional setup and then switching to COP later on.
